The Challenge
The truth is simple: queer people have always been here, and we will always be here. This series of collages aims to uncover that history, highlighting the lives, love, and resistance of queer people and couples across time. The challenge was to honor these stories while amplifying their joy, vibrancy, and individuality, often from archival fragments that were overlooked, forgotten, or discarded.
The Approach
Found photographs collide with scraps of library paper, newspapers, paint, pens, and markers. Every image makes it obvious: these people posed proudly, loved boldly, and showed up fully for themselves. Layered textures and hand-applied marks turn fragments of history into something vibrant, joyful, and alive—a celebration of queer lives, queer love, and queer resistance across time.
